Steve Taylor leads the global Nalco Champion business, with responsibility for day-to-day operations of 8,000+ people who provide on-site, technology-driven solutions to global drilling, oil and gas production, refining, and petrochemical industries.
Steve Taylor is Executive Vice President for Ecolab and President of Nalco Champion.
Prior to joining Ecolab in 2011 through a merger with Nalco Company, Taylor was Executive Vice President and President of Nalco's Energy Services Division. Taylor led Nalco's Energy Services division since 2007, after a series of leadership roles within the division, including Vice President, Upstream; Strategic Business Leader of Nalco's Oilfield Chemicals group and Division Vice President of Marketing for Upstream and Downstream. Taylor joined Nalco in 1994, when the joint venture Nalco/Exxon Energy Chemicals was created between Nalco and Exxon Energy Chemicals.
Taylor began his career with Exxon in 1983 as a programmer/analyst for Esso Petroleum and held various business positions before transferring to Exxon Chemical Energy Chemicals in 1986. In 1988, he was named business development manager for Research, and in 1990, Taylor transferred to the Middle East and held various sales management positions including general manager of Emirates National Chemical Company.
Taylor has a bachelor’s degree in Geology from Bristol University in the United Kingdom.
